Story Gem – Come In, Our Door is Open!

Hello & welcome to Story Gem.

Story Gem, my new content writing business is now up & running! Hurray!

If you are a newcomer, you can find out all about me, Suzanne, and my new venture on the about me page. For those of you who already know the journey that I’ve been on to get to this day – thanks for sticking around.

The next couple of months and years are going to be a very exciting time for me and my little business as we take our first steps and find our way in the world.

What lies beyond an open door?

Blue-tinged room with door ajar and light flooding in

I am reminded of a wonderful poem by the Czech poet Miroslav Holub, which I shall transcribe for you here.

The door

Go and open the door.

Maybe outside there’s

a tree, or a wood,

a garden,

or a magic city.

Go and open the door.

Maybe a dog’s rummaging.

Maybe you’ll see a face,

or an eye,

or the picture

of a picture.

Go and open the door.

If there’s a fog

it will clear.

Go and open the door.

Even if there’s only

the darkness ticking,

even if there’s only

the hollow wind,

even if

nothing

is there,

go and open the door.

At least

there’ll be

a draught.

This poem reminds us to go out into the world with an inquisitive attitude. Story Gem is my door, and I’m throwing it wide open.

I would like to invite you to subscribe to our website if you haven’t already. This will mean that you can follow our journey by getting our updates straight to your inbox.

I look forward to sharing many, many stories with you in the future.

Come on in, we’re open! 🙂

Suzanne.

  1. I really love your blog.. Excellent colors & theme. Did you make this site yourself?
Please reply back as I’m attempting to create my own website and want to
know where you got this from or just what the theme is called.
    Kudos!

    • Hi Angelina,

I’m so glad you like my website.
Yes, I did the site myself using WordPress. The theme I am using is called Uptown Style.
Best of luck with building your own site – and, of course, if you need help with wording the content you know where to come!

      All the best,
      Suzanne.
